Does Kristina Karlsson Have the Answer?

Now that I'm focussing on finding a new direction in life, I've been having "thinking time" a lot more than usual. As a mum of two talkative girls who have been locked down during Corona since March, I've managed to have a lot of time in my own head by doing activities that the girls don't enjoy. I've been walking a neighbour's dog every other day for an hour and this week I started stripping woodchip wallpaper off my youngest's bedroom walls. If you're not familiar with woodchip, it's a hideous British invention from the 70's that involves actual pieces of wood being embedded in wallpaper making it extremely difficult to remove. I've spent about 7 hours so far this week steaming wallpaper with my own thoughts and some podcasts to keep me company. I don't do repetitious manual work very often and am finding it quite therapeutic and a great way to sort through my crazy brain.

Yesterday I listened to Brendan Burchard's podcast The Brendan Show Episode 90 Finding Purpose in 2020. He's an American High Performance Coach and I have his book High Performance Habits which is a great book if you haven't read it. This particular podcast was so good, I went back and took notes after I finished stripping for the day. He makes 3 main points 1. You must realign with the truth of who you are. 2. Adopt a role-model mindset and 3. You have to start creating meaningful moments in your life. He says, "You've got to figure out who you are, realign to your personal truths and listen to your soul again. I think my favourite quote had to be, "It's not like one day you're going to walk out the door and the piano of purpose is going to fall on your face."

So I'm back to finding clarity on what I actually want, and perhaps who I authentically am. I can't say I've ever sat down and actually journaled or written out what the truth of who I am is or what my soul is saying to me. Instead of taking the time to ponder that, I took the girls to TKMaxx. That's the exact same shop as TJMaxx in America, perhaps the K is for Karen! I love a bit of TXMaxx. Where else can you buy a yoga pig statue? Yep, I bought it. Today I also found Your Dream Life Starts Here by Kristina Karlsson. It looks like a helpful and interesting book that will force me to work through what I really want and it's beautiful. I'm a sucker for a beautiful book. Will Kristina Karlsson have the answer to what I should do next? Will she help me find my soul and realign with the truth of who I am? Or perhaps Brendan Burchard's piano of purpose will actually fall on my face and help me figure out my next move.
