Beauty and Order

I've been avoiding most of my emails since my 30 day fast as a lot of them are self-help type of emails or business building wisdom that I'm trying to avoid. I have a few though that are art and design related and I've let myself keep reading these as art is good for my soul. Today I read about the Typography of Tears project by an artist named Rose-Lynn Fisher who photographed different types of tears magnified 100 times. I found it absolutely fascinating that there is such beauty in a tear drop and that the patterns change depending on what type of tears you are crying.

It lead me to do a little research about tears and apparently you can be a tear expert as a career and there are specialists who just study tears. I'm not sure I'd want that as a career but tears are something I haven't given a huge amount of thought to, aside from crying them obviously, and didn't realise until recently that they actually have documented healing properties. I read a bunch of articles about tears, but this one is pretty good if you're interested.

I am not exactly a sobbing kind of person but I do occasionally have a good cry and more often than I like to admit will tear up while watching telly. I have been known to cry during Bake Off and The Great Pottery Throw Down, although not quite as often as Keith Brymer Jones (one of the judges for those of you who haven't seen it. He cries a lot and I love him for it).The next time I cry I'm going to picture all the beautiful patterns running down my face.

I'm going to name my business Beauty and Order because the more I learn about God and nature the more I see beauty and order in everything. I know in my own life I function much better in an orderly beautiful environment and I hope I'll be able to bring a bit of beauty and order into the lives of those I organise for. If not, I'm sure I'll be crying some big fat tears and then at least now I know I have beauty and order running down my face.

My quote for today is, "tears are words waiting to be written." by Paulo Coelho

My photo for today is of Isla with a photo she drew of a teardrop.
